If you mean . . . how many languages I really speak “now,” I would say only three, incl. English (ESL).
(I used to communicate in French, workably, when I was in “grade” school, though) I wish I could speak Fr. the way I do Eng – for both linguistic & (more personal) “aesthetic” reasons (I regard the Fr language as not only a language but also a musical form – “she” is possibly the most beautiful language in the world, IMO.)
Mandarin Chinese, Spanish & Portuguese are currently on my mind, too — the first for the beauty of original Kanji, linguistic history &c, the latter 2 4 benefits of world traveling.
And if there’s any Catholic priest here, I’d like to confess – even though I’m Buddhist (lol) — that I used to be so merciless that, over a course of a single day, I, despite living in a non-Anglophone host country, single-handedly murdered more than a thousand of English Infinitives by way of splitting each of them in half, normally with the ly-ending adverbs (still occasionally doin’ it online, simply “to intentionally piss” some presumably well-educated, middle-aged Br readers, not to mention so proud of it in process, lol).
& Anyone who listens too much of BNLadies and/or Wxxzer is “R”OMO to moi (just kiddin’).
