Ryu Ji Hye and Lee Ji Woo fight to the death over a good game of Batoo. Both models were seen in a few episodes of what I believe to be an online Korean Batoo game promotion, where you follow them as they learn how to play. There’s a lot of talking, which isn’t too fantastic if you don’t know Korean (can get dull when they talk for 10 minutes on a couch), but there are some funny scenes that I have selected below. This clip shows the intro, a recap of funny parts from a previous episode, and the lunch scene with Ryu Ji Hye. The host sure gets the girlfriend experience with RJH and it makes me so jealous! I feel sorry for Lee Ji Woo, who is forced to practice Go in a document storage area and eat cup noodles after a loss to RJH.

There are also some photos after the video for you to enjoy :)

Update: it’s Batoo not Go. Looks like I’ve learned nothing from reading Hikaru No Go. Also, if you’re wondering why they’re wearing the blue sound canceling headsets in the intro, you should check out the Starcraft documentary by the CBC.

Ryu Ji Hye doesn’t hide her boredom well as she frequently yawns or has a blank look on her face

Wow that was wonderful, LJW didn’t seem to happy to be losing.

I must say, that Captain Nerd of the National Korean Go team, is one lucky man.

  2. cypherpunk says:

They used music from Samurai Champloo!

  3. kipper34 says:

  4. Steve says:

@Ma Jie Mao – she was pretty pissed off. But in another episode she gets to go shoe shopping while RJH sits alone in a chair

@cypherpunk – really? I liked the song when she’s fed the oranges, is that from Samurai Champloo? (and if so, what is the name?)

@kipper34 – I would also love to be fed oranges and sushi by RJH!

Had good music in the backround, was playing Nujabes. Lucky guy, no manners tho, smacks and talks with food in his mouth, lol.

  6. Neo says:

They’re pretty awesome, you should check em out Steve, not many people know them outside of the anime Samurai Champloo. Good beats and raps, not crap like most stuff.

  7. Sandage says:

I didn’t quite get what was that video about but I loved the last scene, Ji Woo eating noodles while Meiko Kaji’s “The flower of carnage” is playing in the back.

  8. rejing says:

haha i love the part where RJH feeds him the orange haha NUJABES beat xD

::FUN FACT::Did you know, Nujabes is Jun Seba it’s just his name backwards, that’s so awsome =P

Nice post Steve! Its probably tough to find videos of these girls doing things, but I find that its so much better to see them in motion rather than in still photos. Heres to hoping that videos are found and posted more often :D

  10. Holy Toast says:

    I don’t like that guy.

  11. Lee Ji Woo: WHAAAAAT!?

    XD

  12. GoTenks says:

@kipper34 & @Steve: damn it!!! that’s not sushi…it’s “kim-bhap”! :p ok…I admit it’s structured like sushi, but the middle part is various vegetables and ground beef.

@Neo: in Korean culture, that’s actually normal manners. back before western influence, it was seen as respectful to “smack” while chewing to show that you’re enjoying the food. today…not so much, but it’s still not seen as rude/bad manners. talking while chewing is seen as ok too.

well, that’s my Korean spiel for the day ^_^

  13. cypherpunk says:

@Steve: Sorry I didn’t reply sooner, but it looks like you found it all on your own. Man…. because of this blog post, I’ve been listening to a lot of NUJABES tonight, and I feel like a better person already.
