My head feels like it’s going to explode, as I can’t get the song Gee, by Girl’s Generation, out of my head. Perhaps it’s because I saw the music video and found these girls excruciatingly cute.
It all started while I was browsing around on Cutkilavince’s Weblog and (eventually) stumbled upon the music video for the dance version of Gee posted by Pouet²
I would consider buying this album for this song (not just because it comes with a 40 page photo album)

The Korean version of Morning Musume?
The girls of MM are much younger aren’t they? But same style of getting mass girls together to sing.
I live in Korea, so basically anytime I walk downtown I’m obligated to hear it at least 4 or 5 times on a single block.
It is damn catchy though, which is what I’ve noticed with most of the girl groups. Their songs are catchy, and the girls are really cute, but they really can’t sing very well. But that makes instant popularity here.
I don’t think I’ve heard enough K-Pop to differentiate between good and bad songs. But the same is true for girl groups in North America. Some are cute but can’t sing at all…and then they become actresses as well and they are also terrible at that

Though considerably not as catchy, Kara is another of the girl groups you may like. Plus, there’s only five of them, instead of the absurd number in Girls’ Generation.

GG’s girls are 17-19 with an average age of 18.7
MM’s girls are 16-22 with an average age of 18.9
so GG is a little younger on average… at least now. MM use to be much younger.
